My background:
I hold a Master of Science in Counseling from San Francisco State University. Here in BC, I received the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor in January, 2014. from the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through Evergreen Certifications, having studied both Dr. Arielle Schwartz and Dr. Janina Fisher (in progress) among many others.
My Biofeedback certification number is : B3646 (BCIA.org), obtained in 1990. I am also a member of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB).
Before moving to Canada, I was a stress management consultant for corporate clients and injured workers. I obtained additional specialized training in communication approaches such as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), compassionate listening, and Powerful Nondefensive Communication (PNDC). I have engaged in diversity training and anti-racism education since 1985.
I obtained my certification in Biofeedback from the BCIA in 1990 and am a former Board member of the Biofeedback Society of California. I have also worked as a special education teacher, and with youth in the foster care system, and have successfully worked with children & youth with Biofeedback.
“The techniques I learned from Janette were important to my recovery and I still use the techniques to stay pain free .... Afterwards, I always feel very relaxed and the pain has melted away. It's great that this technique is something readily accessible that you can do for yourself anytime you want. Janette is delightful to work with and was very sensitive to my individual process and helped tailor the imagery to my unique situation.”

Land acknowledgement (work in progress):
I respectfully acknowledge that my office is located on the traditional lands of the Kosampson (Esquimalt) First Nation. I am grateful for their careful stewardship of this beautiful Island, which continues to this day, and am truly blessed to have the opportunity to live and learn on their land. I stand in solidarity with all survivors of Residential "schools", the Sixties scoop and work to reduce the lingering manifestations of colonization and racism which continue to inflict harm on First Nations people.
